Nuweigh’s expertise in weighbridge technology is now on show at a leading organic waste facility that was opened recently by one of the world’s largest recycling companies. The state of the art facility uses a NUWEIGH 21m x 3.5m Multi Deck Concrete Weighbridge, Advanced JAC 350 Indicator and the CLEARWEIGH Driver control station (DCS) system.
Opened in late July 2018, the state-of-the-art facility is fully unmanned weighbridge system for the general public. Considered an Australian first, a convenient automatic, cashless weighbridge system gives users access to the facility with the swipe of a card, enabling fast and accurate transactions. Users gain access via a swipe card, then weigh and pay upon exit of the waste facility.
Up to 44,000 tonnes per year of organic waste is expected to be weighed and deliver to be turned into compost and soil amendment products. Nuweigh’s weighbridge has a 60 tonne capacity and uses NWS CLEARWEIGH software integrated with boom gates a and traffic lights to ensure customers have paid and transaction is complete.
Nuweigh was one of 100 contracting firms engaged to build the facility, which also features an education centre where schools and community groups can see the recycling process in action.
