MDC-221 the Complete Car and Caravan Weighing System

NUWEIGH’s MDC-221 Axle Weighing System is a new innovative light road vehicle weighing system to enter the Australian market.

With an ever-growing demand to identify various light road vehicles whether it’s a caravan, boat, car or trailer, NUWEIGH introduced this system to our product line to assist in ensuring vehicle and occupants safety.

Installing additional accessories to your vehicle such as roof racks, bull bars and cargo draws increases the weight and risk of overloading.  

Why is it important to not overload your vehicle?

• Vehicles react differently when the maximum weights are exceeded because overloading your vehicle makes it less stable, resulting in difficulties with steering and delays in braking and stopping.
• Places unnecessary strain on vehicle tyre’s which results in overheating, rapid wear and increases the risk of dangerous blow outs.
• Overloading is deemed illegal and therefore insurance cover can be void if the vehicle is involved in an accident.
• Increases fuel consumption as the vehicle works harder to compensate for the extra weight, as result increases your costs.
• Overloaded vehicles cause excessive wear and damage to roads.

The MDC-221 Axle Weighing system includes an optional configuration of 2 or 4 Axle Pads. Each Axle Pad is made of Aluminum construction 500 x 580mm and will weigh a capacity of 2 Tonne x 1kg. All pads wirelessly transmit and communicate to the MDC-221 Controller.

The MDC-221 Controller is of high-grade ABS housing, water resistant and durable in tough conditions, and includes a high speed 57mm thermal printer. The 7-inch touch screen display utilises a Windows operating system, displays individual wheel weights, axle weights, axle group weights and total GVM all from the one, high quality colour display. With a reliable wireless connection and USB data storage as standard features, this unit offers the user many operational and reporting features unlike others on the market. 

In conjunction with the Aluminum Axle Pads, the 1 Tonne Tow Ball Weigher transmits weight readings back to the Controller, without the use of cables. Designed for maneuverability with robust pneumatic wheels, the tow ball weigher has adjustable height control to suit the user’s preference and a removable handle to make the system compact and easy to transport. The magnet powered on/off feature and alternative DO35 pin available to suit DO35 styled hitches, are two unique features that complement the high-quality construction of this device.

The finished product is Australia’s most advanced and refined light vehicle weighing system that has the capabilities to check:

• GVM Gross Vehicle Mass: the TARE Mass of your vehicle combined with its maximum allowable payload (payload is any weight you add to the vehicles Tare weight.
• GTM Gross Trainer Mass: the maximum weight allowable over the trailers axle while a boat trailer is attached.
• GCM Gross Combined Mass: Combines the maximum allowed mass of the trailer and the maximum allowed mass of the vehicle.
• TARE: the actual mass of the tow vehicle, as per manufacturers specifications with no payload and includes liquids.
• TBW Tall Ball Weight: the mass applied on the tow ball by a fully loaded trailer.
